When you're fortunate enough to be working with some truly great ingredients at their peak, sometimes the best approach is not to mess around with them too much. Such is the case with ripe, sweet, nutty figs when they're in season. Note that this recipe only has three ingredients: olive oil, figs, and blue cheese.
See all blue cheese recipes.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 8 Black Mission figs, stemmed and halved
- 1/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet large enough to hold all the figs without crowding over medium heat for 1 minute. Add the figs and shake the pan until the figs are coated with olive oil. Using tongs, gently turn them cut side up and top each half with about 1 teaspoon blue cheese. Transfer to the oven and roast until the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
