Foursquare Tips

  • Order the lamb/chicken/beer skewers individually (much better value than a platter).
  • Pumpkin dumplings are ridiculously good
  • The big plate of chicken is amazing. It takes quite some time for it to be prepared, but it is worth the wait. They also have very good cocktails. It's also best to make a reservation before going.
  • Try the lamb in chilli and salt. Also, the mini wantons in tomato broth is heaps good.
  • The lamb skewers are so good! They also serve pretty decent cocktails. I thought the old fashion was great.
  • Memorable dishes include the lacy lumpia wrappers stuffed with chopped scallions and red peppers in a spicy black bean sauce, the cumin-laden roasted lamb chop, and various roasted and fried breads.
  • Giving Tastes Good - visit www.chifanforcharity.org
  • Try sinkiang beer and prawns with peanuts
  • get the big plate of chicken
  • The lamb in tin foil is absolutely delicious - soft, succulent lamb with amazing crispy potato chunks, with red and green peppers and coriander. Heaven for any lamb lover. Also, pumpkin dumplings.
  • Worth to go: very nice food!
  • The lamb pastries are superb
  • The Xinjiang shawan chicken & potato is not to be missed
  • Cool place with very nice food! Pumpkin dumplings were amazing. Try to sit on the terrace as the air-con is pretty strong inside.
  • Try the local dark beer here. All the food is equally delicious. Must try the spicy hot pot with noodles too.
  • Definitely get the lamb chops, they're excellent (juicier and more tender than the skewers)
  • Beef stew is pretty good
  • Window seats overlooking the main road get a bit hot during summer afternoons
  • Good food and very cheap for Shanghai, three of us had four dishes and naan bread and a beer each came to 270yuan. Great in my book :-)
  • De. Li. Cious. One of the best Chinese restaurant I had in Shanghai. Extra meaty. Flavored to perfection.
