Foursquare Tips

  • The food is really overpriced and did not seem any better than standard bar fare. The portions are huge, too.
  • Top notch drinks at top notch prices. If you are feeling rich, order the $14 Colorado Sidecar made with Stranahan's Whiskey. I got a weird look when I asked about specials - you've been warned!
  • French onion soup ...five star
  • Lobster. Salad. Sandwich. Separately, these things are good. Combined, delicious!
  • decent single malt selection and a few good beers, wish the kitchen was more consistent though - it ranges from good to wtf in some nights
  • Come here for a cocktail and a solid time. Ambiance of the Brown Palace is second to none. If you have to eat, grab the prime rib and truffle fries.
  • Salmon salad had a bit too much dressing but was great healthy dinner. The vegetable plate comes with 3 sauces for $10. Great appetizer option
  • Macaroon does not = coconut... Love the bar - great little joint.
  • If you come at the beginning of the year they have Peppy Van Winkle's bourbon.
  • Try the burgers. You will have a hard time anywhere in the world to find better burgers.
  • Colorado Sidecar. Mmmmm
  • Quick, friendly lunch service even on a busy Saturday. Charming & comfortable atmosphere. Vegan and vegetarian options.
  • In this landmark, nothing much has changed since the days when John Wayne swaggered through the doors.
  • French onion soup - great. Salmon and trout - overcooked.
  • Check out the piano bar on Friday and Saturday nights 9:30-11:30. John Kite is an incredible jazz pianist.
  • The Brown Palace Hotel is lovely. So charming! The Ship Yard was a a great spot for a casual dinner with friends. Will definitely visit again.
  • Crab cakes. A must. Thank me later.
  • The Duke himself drank here. Order a Colorado Sidecar in his honor.
  • Great service from the front desk and bellman. Went way out of the way to accommodate us. Food was good. Service was good. Truffle fries are da bomb.
  • Ask about their special 120th anniversary beer, 1892 Artesian Lager. It's made by Wynkoop Brewing and uses the hotel's spring water from 750 feet below ground level.
