Foursquare Tips

  • This place is authentic. I'm talking reall tortillas, dishes, drinks, you name it! The mercado is like one you'd find in Mexico
  • You haven't lived until you have had the el burrito mercado roasted corn at cinco de mayo fiesta.
  • On good weather weekends (lunch time), head to the back parking lot for Mexican-styled fresh roasted corn! Addicting!
  • I love to go here at lunchtime and pretend I am on vacation! Great food, fun shopping too. Carnitas is my meat of choice.
  • The BEST place to eat Mexican Food in the twin cities. Incredibly authentic and amazing flavors. Get something with Chorizo. The market is fantastic too!
  • Favorites include the beef in colorado sauce, a smoky, silky red mole; a pork guisado based on tart bright green tomatillos; or a pollo a la diabla--satanically hot! Salsas are fresh daily, too.

  • Great place to stop for a casual date. Tasty and authentic food. Try the torta!
  • Everything is great, but this is the restaurant that introduced me to carnitas burritos 20-something years ago. Awesome bakery in the grocery store, too.
  • Best place EVER to get fresh SALSAS! They have like 20 kinds everyday! Plus anything else you want for real Mexican food and groceries
  • Anyone from Central or South America will love it here. Cubans can find many favorites from their homeland in the tightly packed aisles, the produce section, meat department, and the freezer case.
  • Chicken enchiladas or their burrito traditional
