Foursquare Tips

  • You can eat a falafel sammy in the time it takes for the next bus to come. You're not getting on that bus anyway. You just needed somewhere to sit & eat the most amazing falafel sandwich ever ($4.50!)
  • The Turkish delights and cheese pastries are addictive as crack. Look in the back for exotic grains, spices, and other pantry items.
  • The lamb and cheese bourek (phyllo pastry cones), and the Turkish delights are fantastic. This store is a neighborhood treasure.
  • Pick up some hummus & fresh pitas. Best in the neighborhood.
  • Everything here is phenomenal, but it's the falafel sandwich that so many walk through the door for. Get it loaded, the hot sauce doesn't obscure any of the other flavors, it simply adds to them.
  • For a quick snack on the road, get a meat cone! Curry ground lamb in phyllo dough
  • Best Lebanese food to take home. Get meat pies, spinach pies, hummus, babganoush, homemade pita triangles and kibbi. Sahadis next door is also great to sit and eat.
  • Meat & veggie pies for $2 each make for a good snack..healthier than a slice
  • for $1, grab a six pack of freshly baked pita bread. not sure of a better bargain in NYC.
  • The Falafel sandwich is delicious and a steal at $4.50. Cheapest and best lunch on Atlantic Avenue.
  • This place is amazing. the men that run the store are as sweet as their delicious baklava! from their labneh to thier pies everything is great. be sure to bring cash because cards require a min of $10
  • Best homemade hummus. Superior to the more famous Sahadi's next door.
  • If youre looking for something quick and easy to eat while trying to catch the bus, try the meat burek, curry-flavored ground lamb wrapped in phyllo dough then deep-fried until golden.
  • Best falafel pitas for only $4!
  • Lamb samboosak complements the falafel oh so well!
  • The home made taramasalata is great
  • Spinach feta pies are my go to food here.
  • Get hummus, pita bread & baklava. Their meat pies are great too!
  • Great Middle Eastern breads, pastries, hummus and dips...way more authentic than Sahadis down the street
  • The spinach and feta pie is great, hot or cold.
