The 100 year-old icon will open their new location in late January at 1545 NW 21st. Avenue. As with the original they will offer a “market-driven” menu under the direction of Chef Michael Uhnak. Traditional menu favorites will be joined by new items while they will still feature their full liquor and craft beer offerings along with brunch.
Philadelphia, PA – Perla
Following the success of his “pop-up” restaurants Chef Lou Bouquila will open his new Filipino-cuisine restaurant in March, 2016 at 1535 South 11th. Street. The menu will be based upon family favorites his mother prepared in their home, will be a “tasting” menu and very intimate at 30 seats. Due to permitting it will also be BYOB.
Detroit, MI – Lady of the House
Former Republic Restaurant Chef Kate Williams will open her own concept by mid-2016 at 14th. and Perry Streets. The Chef states that it will be smaller like a dining room where friends can break bread with a menu featuring “farm-to-fork” foods with an European influence. Seating about 40 with a small bar space it will live in a casual-to-elegant space.
Memphis, TN – Char
The second unit of this popular steak and seafood operation will open by July, 2016 on south Highland Street. The menu will offer traditional steakhouse fare to include Cowboy Ribeye and NY Strip; joined by pecan-crusted blackfish and pan seared scallops with entrees ranging from $30 to $50. It will occupy 7,000 sq. ft. with a casual-upscale atmosphere.
Westborough, MA – Civic Kitchen
Local restaurant veteran Tom Oliveri, Jr. will open his third independent concept as a gastro-pub near the civic center at 121 West Main St. by late March or early April. The menu will offer a “farm-to-fork” items inspired by local area products along with locally produced craft beers in what the owner describes as a “rustic-industrial” setting.
Port Orange, FL – Rossi’s Side Street Cafe
Locals, Steve Rossi and his sister Bernadette, will soon open their second concept a step-away from their popular Daytona-based NY-style deli restaurant by the end of January at 910 Village Trail. The new operation will be fast-casual with locally sourced foods featuring antibiotic-free meats with price points from $3 to $7 per menu item.
