This rye whiskey based cocktail is given a summery boost with a hint of citrus, sugar, and berries.

Ingredients

  • pitted cherries
  • 3/4  Ounces  fresh lemon juice
  • 3/4  Ounces  demerara syrup
  • 2  Ounces  rye whiskey, such as Virgil Kaine Robber Baron Whiskey
  • ​whole cherry, to garnish

Directions

Muddle all the ingredients except the rye whiskey together in a tumbler. Add rye whiskey and pour into a glass. Top with crushed ice. Garnish with a cherry.
