Ingredients
  • 4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 sticks unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon almond extract
  • statue cookie cutter
Directions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar with an electric mixer.
  2. Beat in eggs and almond extract until well combined.
  3. With the mixer on slow, gradually add the flour, making sure it is all incorporated after each addition.
  4. When the dough is well combined, divide it into four pieces. Flatten each piece of dough into a round disc, cover in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least an hour.
  5. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  6. Unwrap one piece of the dough and place it between two sheets of parchment paper. Roll out to ¼” thick.
  7. Remove the top sheet of parchment paper and using the cookie cutter, cut out as many statue cookies as possible. Repeat rolling and cutting cookies until all the dough is used. Place all the cookies on lined baking sheets.
  8. Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
