Fill orange skins with Jell-O and make the boats’ sails out of rice paper for the most adorable, edible, kids’ party food.

Ingredients

  • large oranges, halved
  • 3-ounce packet of Jell-O
  • sheets edible rice paper

Directions

Carefully remove the flesh of the oranges from the skin using a sharp knife, making sure you get rid of all the membrane, and that you don’t make a hole in the orange skin.

Make up the Jell-O following the packet instructions, but using only half the water.

Fill each of the hollow orange halves with jelly. Refrigerate until set.

Slice the orange halves in half.

Cut the rice paper into triangles. Place a cocktail stick into the center of the Jell-O boat, and pierce the rice paper onto the cocktail stick to make a sail.

Orange Shopping Tip

Buying fruits in season when they are at the peak of their freshness make for great tasting food and can save you money.

Orange Cooking Tip

Don’t throw out your overripe fruit – instead blend into a smoothie or salad dressing, add to muffin batter, bake into a cobbler, or boil down with sugar and a little lemon juice to make jam.
