Foursquare Tips

  • Pitango recently introduced a new treat - brioche con gelato. Only on the weekends,it's an Italian version of the ice cream sandwich, it features scoops of gelato that fill a slightly salty brioche.
  • Pitango's best flavor is its nocciola, or hazelnut. They source roasted hazelnut paste from a producer in Italy's Piedmont region for nuts that bear a more flowery note than their U.S. cousins.
  • The espresso here beats starbucks hands-down. Just walk part starbucks and go to pitango
  • Great lattes
  • I love everything I've tried but the espresso gelato is my favorite. Cardamom is great too and even lower fat content than most already low-fat gelato's
  • The Hazelnut is awesome.
  • The staff patiently doles out tiny spoonfuls of samples until a decision is made. If you still cant come to a conclusion, no worries. Each regular serving includes two scoops choose both.
  • Try the Affogato - any flavor gelato with espresso on top in a cup. Wakes you up and puts a smile on your face!
  • Chocolate hazelnut is a winner
  • Chocolate Noir gelato - delicious!
  • Chocolate/hazelnut & cardamom. Delish!
  • Spicy chocolate is amazing!
  • chocolate noir is vegan and ridiculously delicious.
  • I had the cardamom gelato with a shot of espresso on the side. A MUST. Pitango Gelato rocks!
  • Hot DC summers call for a refreshing Mojito Sorbet!
  • If you have any sense whatsoever you'll order an Affogato
  • Great Counter Culture espresso. Very friendly barista.
  • The place to swing by after buying groceries at Whole Foods. Their grapefruit sorbet tops the charts.
  • The Nuciola(Hazelnut) flavor is fbtastic. Just like a good gelato in Italy.
  • Never tried a chocolate sorbet before (didn't know it even existed!). Try the dark chocolate flavor ... SUPERB!
