Foursquare Tips

  • Dishes are upscale enough to be worthy of leaving home for but not so much that they become precious. What to get: Oysters on the half shell; seafood-studded salsa; grilled bacon-wrapped oysters.
  • Grab a number and wait upstairs in the restaurant's sister bar Black Jack, slurping oysters and sampling the cocktail list. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Head here early on a warm evening to grab a seat on the outdoor, street side bar for $2.50 oyster happy hour until 7.
  • You can order and eat from the bar out in front of the sidewalk!
  • mad gay yo
  • Dont visit this retro-nautical low-key bar and restaurant without ordering a platter of oysters, accompanied by a light white wine or local microbrew.
  • How long is the wait? Walk-ins can often be seated immediately during the week, but expect to wait 45 minutes or more on weekends.
  • They have opened the outdoor area!
  • 2 things: bacon-wrapped oysters and pearl cup. #thatisall
  • Get the monster C.E.B.L.T. PoBoy: perfectly fried catfish, a fried farm egg, some smoky Bentons bacon, lettuce, and tomato with some crispy dive fries.
  • Great spot featuring a rotating list of delicious local oysters as well as others from around the US and Canada.
  • The bacon wrapped oysters were amazing!! We tried every fresh oyster on the menu & could probably have another round, they were that good! The seafood gumbo was delicious & had a spicy kick to it!
  • West coast oysters and seafood gumbo. Mmmm.
  • Stopped for brunch. If cinnamon sticky with bacon is a special, you need to get it. Catfish po'boy made us both say OMG at first bite.
  • The pound of mussels was HUGE... Ordered them as a main course, had plenty to share with the table!
  • Their oyster selection can cater to beginners, but if you want to stay safe everything else is super tasty. Favorite drinks: Fleur 75 & Pearl Cup.
  • C.E.B.L.T. po' boy This hot spots po' boy has the usual fried catfish, lettuce and tomato (and comes with fries), but a farm egg and Bentons bacon take it to the next level.
  • Raw oysters downstairs & games and drinks upstairs.
  • Check out their great sister bar just above while you wait for your table.
  • Order a Pimm's Cup. Served in a copper mug. Pretty good.
