Oreos Introduces A Watermelon Flavor; Would You Try It?

Just in time for summer, Nabisco came out with something both exciting and maybe a little gross: watermelon Oreos. The sandwich cookie dons bright pink and green watermelon-flavored crème in between two golden Oreo wafers, and will be available for a limited time. You can find it at Target for only about $3, according to the Huffington Post.

So far, they seem to be getting mixed reviews, probably because the new flavor is both exciting and shocking. Nabisco is known for some outlandish Oreo flavors, like candy corn, dulce de leche, birthday cake, and even the triple double Oreo, and plenty of other fruit variations, but this watermelon flavor hopes to hit big with consumers in the coming months.

Oreo spokesperson Kimberly Fontes told Time, "We chose Watermelon because it is a fun, summer flavor that goes great with the Golden OREO cookie." The cookie does not have any actual watermelon in it, mostly high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors, and two of them pack in 7 grams of fat, 12 grams of sugar, and 150 calories.

The only way to know for sure if these live up to their flavor expectation is to try it yourself with a cold glass of milk. And watermelon's a fruit, so technically it's a healthy snack, right?
