Hundreds Of Brits Queue Up To Get A Taste Of An Original Cronut

The legendary cronut finally made its way across the pond with the opening of Dominique Ansel Bakery London. When the bakery opened its doors for the first time this morning, more than 200 people were waiting in line to get their hands on the iconic pastry, GrubStreet detailed.

The bakery opened at 8 a.m. this morning, but people began lining up at 5 a.m.

"I tried Dominique's creations when I was in America four or five years ago and I loved them," said Rebecca Dempsey, one of the first people in line. "As soon as I heard he was opening in the UK, I followed progress online and when I knew it was opening today I booked a day off work. There was no way I wasn't going to be here."

Ansel greeted the people on line that morning, giving high-fives and taking #Anselfies with fans.

Dominique Ansel Bakery London joins Dominique Ansel Bakery, opened in New York City in 2011, Dominique Ansel Kitchen, and Dominique Ansel Bakery Tokyo.
