Wendy's BBQ Pulled Pork Gets A Little Help From Pitmasters In New Interactive Video Series

In 2014, Wendy's celebrated the success of their new BBQ pulled pork items, and now this year, the slaw has returned with a little help from barbecue "pitmasters" from across America. The BBQ pulled pork sandwich and BBQ pulled pork cheese fries are back on the menu with a unique promotional twist: a "click-your-own-adventure" game with a series of interactive YouTube videos called "Crack the Masters."

BBQ lovers will play to win against three "pitmasters": the sauce master, smoke master, and the hip master. The game challenges you to use different techniques to convince the pitmasters to spill their 'cue secrets: You can either be sweet (complimentary), spicy (angry), or smoky (cunning).

SPOILER ALERT: If you play your clicks right, you'll learn a "secret" about the pulled pork Wendy's used to improve its BBQ pulled pork sandwich this year. For instance, the sauce master warns all aspirational pulled pork pioneers that sauce goes on top, not mixed throughout the meat. The smoke master's secret is that he uses two parts hickory, one part sassafras, and one part sweet gum to smoke his pork. And the hip master will never settle for anything less than wagyu-grade meat (even though wagyu is Japanese for beef, not pork).

The Wendy's BBQ pulled pork sandwich features a toasted brioche bun topped with hickory-smoked pulled pork and coleslaw with your choice of sauce. The BBQ pulled pork cheese fries topped with Cheddar sauce, hickory-smoked pulled pork, diced red onions, and your choice of sauce.  Get them at Wendy's for a limited time.
