Quaker Introduces Gluten-Free Oatmeal

Gluten-free oatmeal joins the ranks of fiber and protein-packed Quaker Oats varieties to meet consumer needs and preferences, according to a release. Though oats are naturally gluten-free, as the release points out, "stray wheat, rye, barley and spelt may be introduced during farming, storing and transportation."

To deliver high-quality oats that meet FDA standards for gluten-free, the company developed a "rigorous and breakthrough cleaning system" to remove these stray grains. The company also employs multiple quality checks, from the milling process to the finished product.

Becky Frankiewicz, senior vice president of Quaker Foods, says, "At Quaker, we're always striving to deliver products that meet families' evolving needs. Requests for gluten free oats have been among the top inquiries from our consumers for the past several years. Our expert millers are the best and most passionate in the business, and they've taken the time and extreme care to develop great-tasting, gluten free offerings in which consumers can be confident."

Quaker Gluten-Free Oats come in three varieties: Quaker Quick 1-Minute Standard Oats (18-ounce cannister) and Quaker Instant Oatmeal (single-serve pouches) in Original and Maple & Brown Sugar. They are available nationwide.
