Patrons Leave Receipt With Racist Note At Mexican-Owned Restaurant

The staff at a restaurant in San Antonio has been left in shock after receiving a racist note on a receipt from a customer stating, "The food was tasty, and the service was attentive. However the owner is 'Mexican.' We will not return. 'America first.'"

Fernando Franco, owner of The Italian restaurant, Di Frabo, was shocked by the note. He has owned the Texas restaurant for one and a half years, and owns several restaurants in Mexico, where he and his wife are from.

"I told my staff the good thing is that they said that the food was tasty and the service was attentive so I guess that's a good thing," Franco told local news station KSAT. Franco also said he "can't control where [he] was born."

Since the image of the receipt was posted on social media, Franco received numerous calls and emails of support from customers and non-customers alike.

Franco said he had an idea of who might have written the note, but he invites them to come back to dine at Di Frabo regardless.
