Mu Ramen Announces Chef's Counter With Seasonal 11-Course Tasting Menu

Mu Ramen, perhaps the most highly sought-after ramen spot in New York City, has announced the launch of its chef's counter, open Friday and Saturday evenings.

The counter will feature Mu Ramen's tasting menu of approximately 11 courses, which is subject to change based upon season and product availability.

Each ticket is $145 plus tax per guest, plus a 20 percent gratuity. Seats may be reserved for 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The chef's counter at Mu Ramen can only accommodate up to six guests at a time, and cannot be reserved for larger parties.

As for the rest of the restaurant, owner Joshua Smookler announced at the beginning of April that reservations would no longer be taken: Seating is now available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tickets for the chef's table may be purchased up to one calendar month in advance by emailing tickets@muramennyc.com. All sales are final but are also fully transferable.

Though Smookler hasn't revealed any concrete details about the menu, he did announce that he was on the lookout for "a serious line cook" to help with the tasting menu, and has hinted that foie gras butter is in the works.
