Mars Recalls Dove Chocolate Assortment For Undeclared Peanuts, Wheat, And Eggs

Customers who reach into a bag of Dove Chocolate Assortment Snowflakes might be in for a pleasant surprise... or a life-threatening allergic reaction. Mars has issued a voluntary recall of a seasonal chocolate assortment after a customer reported finding a Snickers piece in the bag. In the official recall, it states that the assortment was sold only at one major retailer.  However, it fails to mention the name of the retailer.

In its coverage of the recall, CBS News quotes Walmart spokesperson John Forrest Ales, who said, "We are impacted and have notified our stores to pull and destroy our local product, and customers can return to their stores for a full refund. We do sell the item and are committed to providing our customers with safe quality foods."

Approximately 6,700 cases of the item may contain Snickers, Milky Way, and Twix pieces, according to the recall, and no adverse reactions have been reported to date. The item was shipped, distributed, and sold at the unnamed retailer from September 19 to December 1.
