If You Have An Amex Gold Card, You're Entitled To A Special Off-Menu Dish At Gaby Hamilton's Prune

Throughout the month of September, American Express will celebrate a new restaurant-based rewards benefit for Gold Card holders — in which members get twice the Membership Rewards points at restaurants throughout the U.S. — with "Gold Tables for Two" at Prune, the acclaimed restaurant from Gabrielle Hamilton.

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, eligible card holders may call and reserve one of two available tables, accommodating two guests each. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, all Gold Card members who present their card to the host or server will receive a complimentary, off-menu dish from chef Hamilton — cod in a saffron broth.

Hamilton, along with Manresa's David Kinch, will be featured in the upcoming season of Mind of a Chef, the Emmy Award-winning PBS documentary series from Anthony Bourdain.

"What viewers may find surprising in these episodes is how much mental space and energy is taken up by attending to the cleaning and the refrigeration and the payroll and the garbage removal and the recycling and the plumbing and the pest control and the staff," Hamilton told The Daily Meal. "I expect these episodes will reveal that you don't just have the luxury of meditating all day on how you are going to dress the lettuces."
