Chipotle Has A Fast-Casual Pizza Chain, And It's Expanding Nationwide

If Chipotle pizza makes you imagine guacamole and carnitas spread all over a thin crust, we hate to tell you that burrito pizza is not a reality (yet). However, Chipotle has invested time and money to help make fast-casual pizza chain Pizzeria Locale a reality.Until recently, Pizzeria Locale, started by restaurateurs Bobby Stuckey and Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, which offers specialty pies and build-your-own personal pizzas, only had locations in the Denver and Boulder, Colorado areas. But Chipotle just quietly opened up an outpost in Waldo, Kansas, this week.

Pizzeria Locale, which is "inspired by the traditions of the classic pizzerias of Naples, Italy," already has a loyal legion of fans, and landed at No. 65 on The Daily Meal's list of the 101 Best Pizzas in America last year. The new location will offer 10 specialty pizzas, including the Mais (mozzarella, crème fraîche, ham, corn, and garlic oil), the Crudo (sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, and arugula) and the Bianca (mozzarella, sausage, broccolini, garlic oil, and chile flakes), according to the Kansas City Star. Prices will range from $5.75 to $8.25.

The Daily Meal has contacted Chipotle for more information on the possible future expansion of Pizzeria Locale.
