June 19 is National Flip-Flop Day, which means that summer is officially two days away. If that weren’t exciting enough, Tropical Smoothie Café is handing out free smoothies to customers in flip-flops today, according to their website.
Between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., Tropical Smoothie Café will award flip-flop-wearing guests with a free 24-ounce Jetty Punch smoothie, which is made with strawberries and bananas.
In addition to free smoothies, Tropical Smoothie Café will accept donations for Camp Sunshine, a nonprofit that helps children with life-threatening illnesses by offering recreational programs at Sebago Lake in Maine.
Tropical Smoothie Café’s CEO Mike Rotondo is even taking on a “CEO Challenge” in which he will walk seven miles in Manhattan to accept donations and give out smoothies. Tropical Smoothie Café has raised $2.6 million for Camp Sunshine to date. Rotondo plans to stop at iconic New York City landmarks, such as the American Museum of Natural History, Central Park, Times Square, and Madison Square Park.
