Molto Bene Bus — Join The Taste Of Italy Tour

Italian pasta maker Delverde and olive oil maker Lucini are serving up free Italian food during a two-month Taste of Italy bus tour from New York to Washington, D.C.

The bright green, 40-foot Delverde and Lucini Food Bus has embarked on a road trip from the Big Apple to Washington and will be making stops at local events, charity stops, retailers, and trade events, like the Gran Fondo and supermarket D'Agostino. The food tour culminates with its final stop at Washington, D.C.'s Fancy Food Show June 19. (Find the bus at #tasteitaly.)

At each stop, Italian chefs will make traditional pasta dishes from the bus' industrial kitchen, like rigatoni amatriciana and farfalle with pesto. Guests are invited to get on the bus to relax in the lounge area, watch live cooking demos in the kitchen, and eat pasta. Passersby can also view the chefs at work through the bus' giant open-air window.

Guests will also sample Zonin Prosecco, Auricchio and Locatelli cheese, Fratelli Beretta charcuterie, Lucini olive oils, and Caffè Vergnano espresso. Giveaways, special offers, and photos and autographs with celebrity chefs round out the foodie fun.

Chef Lindsay Autry from Top Chef Texas will board the bus at the Fancy Food Show for a meet-and -greet. Chefs who have already stopped by the bus include Grayson Schmitz, Malcolm Mitchell, and Gail Simmons.
