Sorprendente at Oliverio Comes to Avalon Hotel
The second annual Sorprendente festival will be held May 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. This poolside food festival will feature wine, cocktails, pasta, and seafood. $85 per person, tickets available here.

Restaurant High: Rock the Obstacles Comes to LA Live

Loews Reopens After Renovation

Patina Celebrates 15th Season at Hollywood Bowl
Patina Restaurant Group returns for its 15th season providing cuisine at the Hollywood Bowl. Offerings include the al fresco wine bar and lounge, a la carte menu items for box seat holders from restaurants like Nishi Sushi Bar and Staccato, as well as custom picnic baskets.
Reopening of The Must Wine Bar Downtown
The Must Wine Bar reopens downtown with a new location, menu and chef. Over 100 wines are available to pair with chef Drew Coleman’s menu.
Hotel Del Coronado Unveils Del Beach
May marks the launch of Del Beach at the iconic Hotel Del Coronado, a new waterfront area featuring daybeds, cabanas and recreational activities for adults and children. Del Beach will also offer salads, sandwiches, and cocktails.
Red O Offers Cinco De Mayo Cocktails
Chef Rick Bayless’ Red O restaurants will offer “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” themed cocktails from May 2 through May 5 in honor of Cinco de Mayo.
Willie Jane’s Offers New Daytime Bites
Beginning in May, Venice’s Willie Jane’s will offer a new menu of takeaway lunch bites on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The new items expand on the restaurants Southern inspired California fare.
Café Del Rey Beefs Up Menu
Marina Del Rey’s Café Del Rey pays tribute to modern steakhouses by beefing up their primarily seafood menu with two new steak dishes. Both the Wagyu New York Steak and Chateau Filet have been added to the Spring menu.
End Hunger Gala at 57
Downtown’s new 57 restaurant will be hosting an End Hunger Gala on May 12. Six chefs will each cook a course for the benefit with proceeds going to the Los Angeles Food Bank.Tickets are $275 and can be purchased at here.
Adoteca Announces Wine Dinners
Brentwood’s Adoteca is paring with wineries in Piedmont Italy to offer wine paired prix fixe menus on May 12 and 28. Menus include appetizers, pasta, a first and second course, and dessert. $75 and $85.
M Café Offers $5 Menu
M Café, the Beverly Hills macrobiotic eatery, is celebrating their 5-year anniversary with five dishes for only $5 on May 5, offered from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tipple and Brine Opens in Sherman Oaks
Tipple and Brine, the new restaurant focusing on fresh sustainable seafood, has opened in Sherman Oaks. In addition to outstanding seafood, the new eatery offers a specialty cocktail menu putting modern twists on classic drinks.

West Hollywood’s Dominick’s is hosting their 5th Annual Crawfish Boil on May 17 and 24. In addition to Big Easy inspired dishes, chef Brandon Boudet will also be serving New Orleans inspired cocktails.
Terrazza Opens at Casa Del Mar
Hotel Casa Del Mar’s new café and lounge, Terrazza, is opening in late May at the seaside resort. The new design features handmade heated ceramic tiles, hand carved Italian wooden tables and a textured raffia ceiling. The menu will blend Italian and Californian cuisine.
La Sandia Hosts Guacamole Festival
Santa Monica’s La Sandia is offering five different types of guacamole throughout May. Each is inspired by a different region in Mexico and is prepared tableside.
Chaya Offers New Kaisen Menu
Chaya downtown is offering a new Kaisen menu featuring Saikyo miso white seabass, soft shell crab, and panko breaded sardines as well as other seafood dishes with a Japanese slant.
Fred 62 Offers Late Night Menu
Fred 62 in Hollywood has launched a menu of late-night snacks on their Night Owl Stoner and Drunkards menu. The all-night diner is offering lobster tacos, Frito pie, mac n' BBQ balls, and waffle sliders in addition to other items.
