Watching Iron Chef Michael Symon compete (and rack up the wins) on Food Network and do his thing on The Chew, you very quickly get the sense that this Cleveland-born chef has the cooking chops to back up the air time. His flagship restaurant Lola (relocated from its original Tremont location to downtown Cleveland, and helmed by executive chef Joe Swan) is not a good restaurant, it’s a great one. You can expect the meat-centric fare that Symon is best-known for (bone marrow, beef cheek pierogi, venison, pork shank, you get the idea), but it’s all served with a delicate touch. Take for example, a fried pig’s ear and watermelon summer salad offered on a tasting menu a few years ago — memories still linger. -- Arthur Bovino

  • Michael Symon's Lola serves sophisticated American fare, like Crispy Bone Marrow and Beef Hanger Steak, in his hometown of Cleveland, OH.
  • Don't leave without doing the 6AM bacon/ice cream die for!!!
  • Lola Fries! cannot go wrong. A must order with any meal...lunch or dinner
  • Happy hour dinner menu is three courses for $30!
  • Sit at the chef table. That's where the action is!
  • Superb appetizers (try the beef cheek pierogi) and excellent beverage program (try the Clean Lime cocktail)
  • The Beef Cheek Pierogi on the appetizer section is so ridiculously good that i'd just get three orders of it for my meal. Someone tell Symon to up the portions and serve it as an entree.
  • Great food, great service... Tried Lamb Heart for the first time, never thought I'd eat something like that, but am so glad I ventured outside of the box
  • Gotta go the whole nine yards! Get aps and desert and have the waiter pair it for you. Best resterant in the city...hands down!

  • The Pork Shank was so delicious and tender. It just fell off the bone. The Pork Belly was a little overcooked for my liking. Their wine selection is great! Well worth the prices.

  • Sorry but the beef cheek pierogies here do not compare to the cheese pierogies at the wonder bar two doors down !!!
