Foursquare Tips

  • Ted Allen hungers for the Italian cuisine at Locanda Vini & Olli in Brooklyn, NY on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate. We recommend the Duck Breast w/Fruit Compote. Find more tips at FN Local.
  • Beautiful restaurant. Wood paneling evokes an old Italian library or pharmacy. Recs: Thyme maltagliati w/ roasted mushrooms. Pignoli cookies for dessert. Service isn't in-your-face. Great vibe overall
  • Sign up for the tasting menu. Too bad they only hold these once per season but well worth it! The Tagliatelle al Ragu is delicious!
  • Having your entire menu Italian with no translations: ordering panic attack and googling frenzy
  • This place is so delicious. Maybe the best traditional, rustic Italian food I've had in NYC. The baccala and leeks over chick peas is wonderful. For wine, you can't go wrong with Rosso di Montalcino.
  • The best rustic Italian food we've had in NYC. The octopus and baccala appetizers are winners and the beef tagliata entree slayed. Also, great atmosphere and super friendly service.
  • best romantic date spot for ft. greener's and clinton hillers, just try to guess what the green spread is made out of!
  • Italian vermouths made in house, a list of 8 negroni variations, rustic braised chicken livers and a super foxxy maitre' who reminded me of Adriana La Cerva from The Sopranos! Like!
  • Really lovely, perfect for a romantic date. Order the quartino of prosecco--it comes in a ceramic jug. One salad, one pasta, one entree, and a cheese plate was the perfect amount of food for two.
  • Wow...where to start. Great service, awesome atmosphere. I absolutely loved the chicken livers. Some of the best I've had. Pappardelle? Yes please. An overall amazing experience.
  • This is one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Go with friends and do the tasting menu. Get house wine for your second round -- they measure the bottle with a ruler: you only pay for what you drank!
  • fresh pasta made everyday
  • love this spot. try the tasting for parties of 4 or more. the duck and steak are epic. pastas are great too.
  • the taglierini al tartufo (five words: shaved black truffle, white asparagus) is just delightful. sit outside on a beautiful summer night
  • I like this place ok... But I continue to be surprised by the super high ratings. The pastas are decent but don't blow me away, I like the duck and steak, and the atmosphere is definitely great.
  • Always an excellent choice but especially on a Sunday afternoon when the tables are outside and the house wine is flowing
  • This place has the best olives and olive oil. The best cheese plate!!! And the pasta dishes!!!
  • Ensconced in a former pharmacy, Locanda is an expanded wine bar, with deep bows to Lupa and Pepolino, featuring semi-wild notions like seafood charcuterie and a reconfigured lasagna called lasagnette.
  • Papa al pomodoro is the best in the city
  • Went here because of Ted Allen's best thing I ever are recommendation from the food network. Didn't disappoint!
