Foursquare Tips

  • Horrible service. Good, but not great, German food.
  • Eat a delicious bratwurst.
  • Grab a giant soft pretzel here and wash it down with a Das Boot. The potato pancakes and sausage are also not to be missed, so save room!
  • They are mean here.
  • Endlich ich deutschen Platz habe gefunden. Glhwein und Kartoffeln salad und deutsches Musik. Ich bin sehr glcklich.
  • The apex of the menu is the wursts;sausages in seven varieties served with bread and pickled salads. Smoked kielbasa and the Berlin-style currywurst are the most memorable.
  • Come experience authentic German surliness - refreshing!
  • Indoor beer garden is not the same
  • Traditional bratwurst is great here, as is the weisswurst and bauernwurst; you really can't go wrong with whatever tubed meat you pick.
  • Get the two sausages main course - I don't know any other restaurant in NY that can deliver this quality for $12!
  • Best pretzels and beer in town!
  • They have the das boot!!!!
  • God I love Lederhosen. Get a sausage, drink a beer, enjoy a view of the majestic Alps, watch out for the Satanic horse in the corner of the mural.
  • Love this place. Excellent sausages. Try the kielbasa. Great selection of German beers. Take down das boot. Get here early, tables are tough to get and they close at midnight (4 of 4 petals via Fondu)
  • One of the top five German Beer Halls in NYC & one of the favorite Greenwich Village bars of the Cocktails & Curiosities team. Get the scoop on Dirndls, lederhosen and beer that smells like bacon....
  • Winner of Best German in the Village Voice 2011 Best Of issue! The city Yes, get a beer, but also get the city's best soft pretzel!
  • Located at the heart of the West Village...you enter this place and you feel like you just arrived in Germany
  • potato pancakes are tastey
  • It's spendy for workmanlike German bar food, and the name is embarrassing, but the draft is superb, fresh; notably HB Dunkel.
  • drink a boot.
