Foursquare Tips

  • Christiana is the best bartender here. She specializes in out of the ordinary cocktails, using her own twist on the norm. Definitely try the spicy mussels (it's by request only)
  • Patatas bravas and peach sangria....yum
  • Come in for some warm tapas and start off the New Year right.
  • The spanish wine flight was outstanding!
  • Great Paella, especially since it was their Paella Sunday special. Bad Bloody Mary though
  • Chef Enrique is the master of Tapas! The paella is to die for, and there is never a bad meal here :)
  • Get the bacon wrapped dates..... seriously.... don't think, just do!
  • Get the vieras salteadas (scallops). Very good! Curry chicken dish was a little salty. (You'd think the dished named salteadas would be saltier, but no. #irony)
  • The tapas are good. Avoid the paella.
  • Located in University Village, La Taberna's Spanish culinary concept of small plates is enhanced by the many spices and flavors found throughout the Latin world.
  • Shrimp Ceviche is probably the best in Chicago and I've never had bacon warped dates that tasted this good!
  • If you like sangria, do the sangria flight. Instead of $8 each, you get three decent size for $14, and you get to mix and match.
  • Goodfood friendly service...
  • The White Sangria is to die for. Ample parking. Great waitress.
  • The seafood tapas are very tasty, generous portions; the sangria flight is very generous
  • Very attractive menu; staff seem unsure of what is available even though it's on the menu; love the decor and ambience
  • Adrienne is the best waiter here. He makes dining here an experience as opposed to grabbing a quick bite.
  • Great food and hot Ethiopian bartender!
  • Food was really good. Played fantastic music. Had a great time!
  • Owner is a boss.
