PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities Of 2013: Kristen Bell And Dax Shepard

Actress Kristen Bell and her fiancé, actor Dax Shepard, have been named PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities of 2013. They were chosen from group of 100 celebrity nominees including Anne Hathaway, Tia Mowry, Paul McCartney, and Forest Whitaker.

Bell, who has been a vegetarian since she was a teenager, told PETA, "I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with — dogs and cats, for example — from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat. I always loved my Brussels sprouts!" Bell recently transitioned into veganism.

In January 2012, Shepard also became a vegan after watching the documentary Forks Over Knives, reports E! Online, but surprised voters by turning down his award for 2013's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity. In a tweet following the announcement of the honor, Shepard wrote, "I'm really flattered to be named "Sexiest Vegetarian" with @IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken."

Bell and Shepard, who have been engaged since 2009, announced this past Wednesday that they would finally marry now that same-sex marriage has been made legal in their home state of California; according to TIME, they had been postponing their wedding in solidarity with their gay and lesbian friends.
