Did you know that Labor Day is one of the most popular weekends to get engaged? So it was no surprise that Kleinfeld Bridal, the uber-popular wedding gown destination in New York City, hosted a bridal extravaganza just a few weeks after the ultimate end-of-summer holiday.
Brides, couples, and bridal party pals flocked to the New York City flagship to talk about their big days and meet vendors who could assist them in the planning process — from hairstylists and designers to caterers and travel agents to send them off on a blissful honeymoon after all the wedding hoopla.
Planning a menu around such an occasion is a unique concept. Get brides, grooms, and their entourages excited for their upcoming nuptials by theming a menu around the idea of a big wedding bash. And so Canard Inc., a New York City catering and event planning company, pulled out all the stops for chic eats and tasteful bites.
As brides and grooms bustled about from one vendor to another, they were smart to think small with foods that were finger-friendly — very much like a cocktail hour. As for the cocktails, it was signature drinks all the way, with his and hers cocktails and some fantastic sips from Chandon, the ultimate wedding go-to for bubbly.

Organized Caesar Salad: Sushi-styled Caesar salad wrapped with jicama and topped with Parmesan foam
Lobster Roll: House-made brioche buns with seasoned lobster, celery, and a bit of remoulade
Mini Fish Tacos: Grilled cilantro-lime red snapper with avocado mousse and fresh ginger
Uptown Sloppy Joes: Braised short ribs with Brie on brioche rolls
White Truffle Arancini: Crispy risotto puffs with white truffle pâté dusted with Parmesan
Truffled Mac and Cheese: Mac and cheese with truffle oil in mini squares
Deconstructed Chicken Wings: Chicken bits with Buffalo sauce and roquefort dip on a celery stick skewer
For Him: The Passion Margarita
Tequila, ginger liqueur, pear nectar, triple sec, and a splash of fresh lime, served on the rocks and garnished with a thin slice of pear
For Her: The Romance Martini
Vodka, white plum, and white grape juices, and a splash of elderflower liquor, served up and garnished with a lemon peel
Chandon Citrus Fizz
2/3 ounces Belvedere Pure, 1/3 ounce fresh lemon juice, dash of simple syrup
Directions: Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a flute and top with 3 ounces Chandon Brut
Chandon Blackberry Fizz
1/2 ounce blackberry syrup (Cordial), 1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice, dash of Crème de Peche
Directions: Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a flute and top with 3 ounces Chandon Blanc de Noir
