Well hey, it looks like Spanish chef José Andrés will be considered Professor Andrés once again; AP reports that Andrés will be teaching a class at George Washington University about the power of food.
Andrés, who is also the Dean of Spanish Studies at the International Culinary Center, will be leading a weekly class for 230 students, covering the politics and history of food, hunger, and obesity. He will also be discussing how food and national security tie together, fitting, considering he's one of our nation's culinary ambassadors.
Eater reports that the class, titled "The World on a Plate: How Food Shapes Civilization," will be one hour and 20 minutes long on Mondays, from 4 p.m. to 5:20 p.m., and while Andrés will be teaching some of the classes, guest lecturers will include Andrew Zimmern, who is all over the place now.
In the past, Andrés also taught at Harvard, participating in a course titled "Science and Cooking: From Haute Cuisine to the Science of Soft Matter."
