Foursquare Tips

  • Check out what Chris Rock and Bobby Cannavale ordered during a recent trip to Jacob's Pickles!
  • Comfortable southern and soul food restaurant with good pickles, biscuit sandwiches, and beer.
  • The rustic wood and brick interior pulls in a youngish crowd for regional beers such as Ommegang Abbey Ale and plates of buttermilk-fried chicken sandwiches, mac and cheese and fried pickles.
  • Pickles are the bedrock of this fun-loving caf that looks like an old-fashioned Jewish deli. Theyre servin up Southern fare with a Jewish flare! Dont miss the XL biscuit sandwich and fried Oreos.
  • Our favorite spot. Jacob is here every night & is more than happy to talk to every table. Fantastic food. We've tried & enjoyed everything on the menu. Great beer selection.
  • I've never been compelled to write a tip, but the food is heavy but delicious and perfect for winter. The beer list is great, and the variety could make any beer snob happy. Highly recommend.
  • The Founders Rbus, or the Peak Organic Fresh Cut Pils (probably the best beer theyve ever made), are a great for balancing the acid of the pickling liquid.
  • Eat anything on the menu ... You wont be disappointed
  • twenty-five taps. great fried chicken. great sausage gravy. house made jam in squeeze bottles. super chill vibe. biscuit doesn't make the list, but you should still eat here.
  • A one of a kind joint on the UWS - but a true gem. Solid atmosphere and a must try! Pro tip: Get yourself a growler.
  • Talk to Jacob. He's the man of the house.
  • Try the Biscuits & Fixins for an indulgent treat! They come with a wide variety of spreads from organic butter to clover honey.
  • sooooo glad I discovered this restaurant. fried pickles are the best
  • First Date? Avoid the sandwiches, they're messy, but definitely worth checking out otherwise (Honey Chicken & Chicken BLT). Don't make the mistake of not getting Fried Pickles, so good.
  • I challenge you to eat the southern BLT like a sandwich! Between the friend green tomatoes, incredible buttermilk fried chicken, and the towering pickle slaw this is a mountain of food!
  • The salad wedge appetizer is an amazing amalgam of blue cheese, cherry tomatoes, bacon, and of course lettuce. True: delicious, crunchy, crisp, flavorful. False: nutritious.
  • Brooklyn comes to the Upper West Side, via a detour through the American South. So hip it hurts, but there is a pickle for whatever ails you.
  • Amazing food but even better customer service. Jacob is awesome. Our food took a bit long to come out so he gave a us a growler worth of beer on the house!
  • The fried pickles!
  • Any place with fried pickles on the menu and root beer on tap is ALL RIGHT BY ME. Also the biscuits. Eat all of them.
