People have been taking long-exposure photos for a while now to create really cool lighting effects in the dark, but Infiniti may have just topped them all. The auto marquee put on a super cool performance for its customers in the Middle East called Inspired Light by Infiniti, which was held at the Al Reem track in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Riyadh. Though the event included many activities, like track driving and a wildlife safari, the light painting show was definitely a sight to behold.
"We saw this as the perfect opportunity to engage with our fans here in the Kingdom," says Juergen Schmitz, managing director, Infiniti Middle East. "As a premium automotive manufacturer, it's a top priority to provide our customers with a relevant offering, so we too feel that it is also equally important for us to afford our fans a chance to really live and revel in the Infiniti spirit."
With the help of light painter and photographer Patrick Rochon, Infiniti dressed three of their QX70 cars in strategically placed lights of various colors, turning them into rolling brushes that could essentially paint the night. Large-scale colorful images were created, completely transforming the autos into kinetic works of art.
“We’re creating light right now; all of us are creating […] a trail of light in the universe and I think that’s what light bending is about,” says Rochon. “I think that’s what the project with Infinity represents: making beautiful light and creating something remarkable. And that light is projected into space, to infinity.”
