Holland America Line Introduces New Restaurant

Holland America Line has added two new dining options aboard the MS Prinsendam. Canaletto, a casual Italian restaurant, and Wintergarden, a transformation of the Lido Terrace into an enclosed dining space, have debuted on the ocean liner.

Named for the 18th-century Venetian artist, Canaletto is located in the Wintergarden, adjacent to the Lido dining area, marking the final addition of Canaletto to all 15 ships in the Holland America Line fleet.

Canaletto is open for dinner only. An evening at Canaletto begins with the chef's selection of antipasti followed by a three-course meal that includes starters like minestrone and zuppa di pesce, a choice of main courses like veal osso bucco, gnocchi, and spaghetti and meatballs, and desserts like tiramisu, limoncello crème, and mille-feuille of Madagascar chocolate.

All the seafood served in the restaurant and on Holland America Line is sustainable. The memu was designed by Rudi Sodamin, consultant master chef to Holland America Line. Reservations, which are $10 per person, are required.

In addition to Canaletto, the 835-guest Prinsendam's aft Lido terrace was enclosed and remodeled into a covered Wintergarden. The new additions add to the current offerings on the ship, which include La Fontaine Dining Room, the reservations-only Pinnacle Grill, Explorations Café, and The Culinary Arts Center, a demonstration kitchen offering cooking classes.
