Foursquare Tips

  • The food ranges from ordinary to, well, grim. And the restaurant may look good, but it's impossibly loud, the would-be hipsters all attempting to out-bellow each other. Plus, of course, it's expensive
  • Ignore the Metro review - wrong on every count
  • this place is cool. the drinks are tasty. people look nice.
  • Served till 1am their snax menu is the perfect midnight feast. Make like youre skiing with a fondue, or shoot some quails eggs legendary. Plus love em or hate em the free twiglets rock!
  • Fantastic range of infused gins behind the bar. Check out the bar snax menu also - sweetcorn fritters are delicious!
  • The food is amazing, and all it is cracked up to be. This is stylish, understated dining - not cheap but worth it. Mark's Bar, downstairs also worth checking out.
  • Excellent cocktail bar downstairs. Comfortable sofas and really well mixed drinks.
  • Lovely bar downstairs. Great setting with strong well mixed cocktails.
  • Never has a dish been as aptly named as 'Heaven and Earth'. Not to be missed (unless you are vegetarian of course)
  • Go eat there meat so dam good ! I could have eaten two steaks
  • The bread is amazing. We ordered rare steak that put me in a coma. My friends are now eating the dessert that will ultimately kill them.
  • So long as your prepared for a 2 hour service it's great
  • "We started with a dozen oysters that were served on a bed of ice. These were delicious and not a trace of norovirus in sight. For main course, we ordered the hanger steak with baked bone marrow."
  • Crap service . . . Over priced food ! Will NOT be back there are better places in London !
  • Heaven and Earth (Time Out London's 100 Best Dishes)
  • Mark Hix has played a leading role in the use of foraged ingredients. Here you may find chickweed, sea beets, rowan jelly and, yes, sea buckthorn.
  • The bakewell pudding with almond ice cream is insanely good!
  • Alex Bilmes, Editor, UK Esquire - London: I like the Hix Fix at Hix, Soho, London
  • Fun but ridiculous and expensive.
