About The Music Festival

As small and intimate concerts in L.A. go, SSMF is no ordinary show. Each year it returns, welcoming home bands that injected pure pleasure into the L.A. music scene. This year, bringing it back old-school style to the Main Stage, the members of Jane's Addiction (Perry Farrell, Dave Navarro, Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney) are set to perform it's 1988 classic Nothing's Shocking in it's entirety. Returning back to where it all began, it couldn't be a more fitting way to commemorate the album's 25th anniversary. Locals who caught their one-night only club show at The Roxy a few years back clearly understand how well Jane's still embraces their past and honors it's L.A. roots. This show will be no exception – let's just say "Nothing's Shocking" and anything is possible.

2014 SSMF Highlights + Lineup

In addition to headlining shows, the street festival will include a total of three outdoor stages, interactive experiences, and food and beverage offerings converting the Strip into a true music festival. The Strip's most iconic venues: Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy and Viper Room will be hosting live performances for ticketed attendees during and after the festival closes (11:00 – 2:00 am.) on a first come, first serve basis.

To kick-off the festivities, Friday night, the members of Jane's Addiction will receive the prestigious "Elmer Valentine Award" at an invite-only honoree event hosted at the House of Blues Sunset Strip. This award celebrates music and icons that have impacted the legacy of The Strip throughout recent decades. Past honorees have included: Ozzy Osbourne (2009), Slash (2010), Mötley Crüe (2011), The Doors (2012) and Joan Jett (2013).
