Grilled French Toast
Steve Sanders

Anyone who has ever camped has likely made French toast on some kind of grill. And why not — it works. Not to mention it’s pretty fun making breakfast for guests on your grill at home. Just don’t forget sausages and bacon, which are also fantastic out there.

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 French baguette
  • Nonstick spray
  • Powdered sugar

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the grill to medium. Beat the eggs well and stir in the milk and syrup.

Slice the bread lengthwise and then into 5-inch lengths.

Spray the grill with nonstick spray.

Dip both sides of the bread slices in the egg mixture, remove, and allow the excess to drip off and place on the grill. Cook until both sides are golden brown, remove, and serve with a fat sprinkle of powdered sugar.
