Georges Restaurant Caters To Corporate Travelers And Locals

Located among the hustle and bustle of San Francisco's Financial District skyscrapers and suits, Georges restaurant is a sociable place where corporate travelers can dine within a trendy, family-operated dining experience. So often, "business" restaurants can feel sanitized and sterile. Not the welcoming Georges. After you get off the plane, take a cab to downtown San Francisco, and settle into your hotel, you are only minutes from a San Francisco icon.

Though Georges is sleek, organic, and trendy, it does have a family feel. Chef Michael Bilger, along with partners Evin Gelleri and Jay Marx, has created a hidden gem with sustainable seafood in the FiDi.

"You will always find an owner present," said Marx in a release. "Most people who manage to stumble upon us are certain to come see us again!"

Georges stays true to San Francisco cuisine by including the finest organic ingredients in their menu that changes seasonally. They maintain a green business by not only obtaining their seafood using the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program guidelines, but also by cooking within an energy-efficient kitchen.

During weekday lunch hours you can find Georges chock-full of local businessmen and women all salivating to taste Bilger's latest creations.

"One of my favorite things to cook at Georges is the trap-caught Spanish octopus Bolognese," said Bilger. "It consists of a house-made saffron reginette and aglio olio."

Dinner time is just as spectacular, with appetizers such as marinated beet salad topped with avocado, grapefruit, queso fresco, and an orange-coriander vinaigrette, entrées including Idaho golden trout alongside buttermilk smashed potatoes, almond brown butter, and sautéed spinach, and for those with room for dessert, a pistachio financier with chocolate cremeux and olive oil caramel.

Georges' cocktails are both unique and refreshing. A house favorite, The Long Walk Home, includes Plymouth gin, apple juice, lemon, honey, and a refreshing hint of basil.

Finding the place to eat when you're always on the road, especially when you have scant time to research somewhere, is never easy. But with Georges located in the heart of the Financial District, corporate travelers now have a premiere spot to unwind and indulge while still conducting professional matters.
