Foursquare Tips

  • Flay knows that while some people crave small plates of seared duck liver and beef crudo, others will migrate toward pizza, a comforting cube of eleven-layer potato, and charred beef.
  • My wife and I love the assorted small plates, especially the piquillo pepper filled with raw tuna. We also enjoy the soft shell crab crostini and the kale paella.
  • The Foursquare tips are spot on -- kale paella, octopus and scrambled eggs as appetizers. The charred beef entre is one of the most delicious things I've had in forever. I'd go back just for that.
  • Easily one of the best restaurants in NYC- the paella is phenomenal, the crab toastada melts in your mouth, and don't get me started about the octopus. This place is a must..hats off to Bobby Flay!
  • Friendly service great ambiance amazing food. I asked the waiter for Bobby Flay's favorite dishes. My mouth is watering just thinking about them - Crab Risotto & Saffron Linguine with Mussels so good!
  • Get the simple scramble ($14): whipped eggs with butter & crme frache, finished with garlicky romesco sauce, tangy Bcheron goat cheese and chopped marcona almonds.
  • Bobby Flay has done a fantastic job with the menu, making Gato one of my top 2 restos of 2014 (along w/ Narcissa). The pork chop is out of this world. Other recos: halibut, garrotxa and potato gratin.
  • The latest addition to Bobby Flay's empire serves some of the best Mediterranean food we've had in a while. Start off with the lamb sausage pizza, followed by the kale paella & a side of cauliflower.
  • The kale and artichoke paella is DELICIOUS and vegetarian. They also have great pizza and the chicken dish was good.
  • Skip the main courses and order two of everything from the bar snacks plus apps. Don't miss scrambled eggs and octopus!

  • Great new restaurant in New York! Must try dishes: lamb pizza, kale paella and charred beef (pictured). You might even see Bobby Flay while here! We did. Large bar, too.
  • Best charred octopus in the city. Stick with tons of appetizers, no need for entrees.
  • Delicious! We had the pork chop, the kale paella, scrambled eggs, shrimp and cauliflower.
  • Can't describe how delicious the roasted cauliflower in agro dolce sauce is, same for the scrambled eggs toast w/romesco and boucheron cheese - based on a dish at Barcelona's Paco Meralgo.
  • Bobby Flay is serving rustic Mediterranean fare in a gorgeous space. Menu includes tapas-style shareable plates, Greek-style dips, wood-fired pizzas, grilled seafood dishes, and vegetables galore.
