Mohegan Sun is one of Connecticut’s top casino and entertainment locations. Every year visitors enjoy an array of entertainment from gambling, shows in the arena, shopping and delicious meals at the restaurants. Another fan favorite is the Sun Winefest being held on January 23-25, 2015. The Winefest features samples of over 1,000 different brands of wine, beer and spirits along with food samples. Tickets are available online. Admission is Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. for $90 per person, Saturday from 12 to 5 p.m. for $90 per person (elite package for $210 per person) and Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. for $70 per person. A package deal is also available for a combination of Friday and Saturday events for $145.

The Connecticut Open is formerly known as the New Haven Open at Yale. It is an outdoor tennis tournament held annually at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale. In 2015, the Connecticut Open will take place August 21-29, 2015. From August 21-22, fans can view the qualifiers and from August 23-29, cheer on your favorite athlete. Both daily tickets and ticket packages are available for purchase online.

Adults and children get a rush as they watch live truck action at Monster Jam. Monster Jam is a live motorsport event that is coming to Connecticut. The show will feature the Storm Damage, Hurricane Force, Crushstation and Rammunition, among others. On February 7-8, the Monster Jam show will be held at the XL Center in Hartford. Saturday will have two shows starting at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday’s show is at 2 p.m. Tickets are also available for the Pit Party after Saturday’s 2 p.m. show. Choose from seating in the Golden Circle with admission price of $45 or Level 2 or 3 seating at $35 or $25 per adult. Children tickets are $10 per child age 2-12 for Level 2 and 3.

The Hebron Maple Festival is an annual family-friendly event that is both educational and fun. Guests will learn how maple syrup is made, view demonstrations, give self-guided tours of sugar houses and can purchase the products made right in Connecticut. Local featured sugar houses include the Wenzel Sugar House, Woody Acres Sugar House, Pierce’s Sugar House and Winding Brook Sugar House. Not only is the festival free, but there are events tailored to children including face painting and an ice cream eating contest. The festival will be held March 14 and 15, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Riverfront Recapture, in part with sponsors, hosts the annual Riverfront Dragon Boat & Asian Festival in Hartford each year. The festival is a free event that celebrates Asian culture with music, dance, food vendors, entertainment, performances, an Asian beer garden and dragon boat races. There will also be martial arts expositions. Join the festival on August 15 and 16, 2015.
