First-Ever 'Light Therapy Bar' Opens In Portland, Is Genius

This makes total sense: Eater reports on a new bar opening in SE Portland, Ore., that uses light therapy devices for Portland residents looking for a bit of, well, light.

Lightbar is the first of its kind, using the devices to light the joint instead of traditional lighting devices. "We can wash the walls with any color of light that we decide to dial in," said Carlson to Eater. Of course, there's more ways to use light therapy than boring lamps, Lightbar also has an "incredible chandelier that sort of looks like a tree" built with LEDs, cyber optics, and 600 dangling Swarovski crystals, Eater says.

The bar also serves bites like paninis, soups, and salads, so it's more cafe than bar. That doesn't mean there's not a mean cocktail behind the bar, though.
