Foursquare Tips

  • The patty melt is refined but not annoyingly so, ... while also insuring the correct balance of crunch (toasted rye) and ooze (Swiss cheese and caramelized onions).
  • Amanda Freitag combines the familiar flavors of poached peaches, raspberries, candied almonds, and vanilla ice cream in her newest dessert, Peach Melba. She's also offering a Peach Fuzz cocktail.
  • Crowd is actually unbearable but food is excellent - matzoh ball soup, brussels, apple pie, and the patty melt. Please don't come here so that I can more often.
  • As seen on the Travel Channel's Food Paradise
  • Nick the bartender is a fantastic bloke from Manchester. Compliment the accent. He'll treat you right.
  • Amanda Freitag opening locavore diner in the former Empire Diner space in late September.
  • Head to Amanda Freitag's revamp for matzo ball soup with bone marrow, crispy Buffalo-style skate wings, Brussels sprouts with chili jam, or a plump cheeseburger with a mountain of crispy fries.
  • The new Empire Diner. Spicy virgin mary so far.
  • Mythique et excellent de surcroit
  • The best fish tacos east of Baja
  • AMAZING. We waited outside for 30 min. in the cold... And I would do it again! Gladly! Food? Phenomenal. We all cleared our plates + got dessert! Go soon + you can see Amanda Freitag at the kitchen!
  • Closed! Hope someone decent takes over...
  • Possibly the best turkey burger I've ever had.
  • Freshest Bloody Mary I have had!
  • Beer and the burger
  • The Bitches say A-. Empire Diner serves augmented classic diner food with a fancy twist, and we appreciated both the riffs on classics and the basics.
  • Disappointed! It was diner food at restaurant prices.
  • Do NOT miss the chocolate cake!!!
  • Lobster scramble, parmesan truffle tots
  • The menu was almost completely overhauled August 23 - I think for the better. There are many more options, and they hew closer to traditional diner fare, but still gastrodiner.
