Anti-Football Margarita Party

Can you feel the excitement in the air? Football season is running hot now, but those who couldn't possibly care less are about to have a lot of alone time on Sunday afternoons for the foreseeable future. However, that doesn't mean they can't make lemonade out of those lemons; it's the perfect time to gather some friends together and have an anti-football margarita party.

You don't have to wait until the Superbowl to do it, either. Any time your more pigskin-inclined friends are out watching the game at the bar, you could be having fun with people who know how to have a good time without dressing up in matching tshirts. The first thing that the party needs is a lot of ice for those delicious margaritas.

Most home refrigerator/freezer units aren't able to handle a big party, and you may not have the car available to run out and get ice. If you and your friends really want to get your drink on, consider investing in an undercounter ice machine.

Next up is the liquor. For my parties, you better stock at least two types of tequila: the high-end stock for the first two pitchers, then the bargain basement kind for the ones after that. After all, drink enough and nobody can really tell.

Of course, there are regular sodas that should be brought to the party, and you'll need ice for those as well. Try some gourmet sodas or anything that isn't diet. It's a party and the calories don't count.

Making the perfect margarita

3 shots tequila

1 shot lime juice

1 shot agave syrup

Pour this into the blender with some full cube ice, churn it up, and you're good to go. You can expand out those proportions to suit the number of people that you have at your anti-football frozen margarita party.

What food should you serve?

Well, since we've got the frozen margaritas in place, you can round out the rest of the menu with some excellent Mexican-styled finger food. Here are some delightful ideas:

Ginger Citrus Ribeye Steak Soft Tacos

Maybe some Ball Park Jalapeño Nachos

Or perhaps some Super Bowl guacamole and salsa?

When it comes right down to it, it's best to just think of creating finger foods that are easy to maneuver when drinking delicious frozen margaritas.

You might want to get rowdy and let your hair down a bit, so consider playing the music loud and dancing it out. If you want to find out what mood your football lover's going to be in when you see them again, check the scores before you get your designated driver to take you home.

Have fun, and happy partying!
