Chocolate-Hazelnut Pudding
Jess Kapadia

The addition of Nutella to this creamy, homemade chocolate pudding adds a rich flavor boost to a beloved classic.  Best of all, it doesn’t come from a box and tastes much, much better than its shelf-stable kin — the snack pack. Be creative with your garnish, almost any dessert you can crush, crumble or dollop will add a fantastic final touch sure to delight anyone, from toddlers to dinner party guests.

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Nutella
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

DIRECTIONS

Bring milk to a simmer in a medium saucepan, then gradually add the sugar and cornstarch, whisking constantly until the milk thickens, about 3 minutes.

Remove from heat and whisk in chocolate, Nutella, butter and vanilla until smooth and creamy. Divide among 6 ramekins or other small containers and press a layer of plastic wrap down on the surface of each to prevent a skin from forming.

Refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
