Laugh With Jim Gaffigan

Comedian Jim Gaffigan is performing at the Chicago Theatre this Tuesday, October 21. Gaffigan's comedy relies on his popular routines, focusing on being lazy and eating. But this comedian's career has been anything but lethargic. Gaffigan has appeared on the David Letterman Show, The Ellen Show, Conan and has had multiple comedy specials on Comedy Central. Gaffigan has also been nominated for both a Grammy and a Daytime Emmy Award for his comedy. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available online starting at $91.

Get A Little Sloppy (Joe)

Come down to the State & Lake Tavern of the Thewit Hotel on North State Street for Wild Boar Sloppy Joe Wednesday on October 22nd. As the name suggests the State & Lake Tavern will be serving up Wild Boar Sloppy Joes for just $3. Miller High Lifes are also included for just $2 as part of the promotion. Go Apple Picking

Apple season is in full bloom and few places near Chicago are as ripe for the picking as the Royal Oak Farm Orchard on Hebron Road in Harvard. This orchard has over 20 apple varieties plus pumpkins and other seasonal produce. The orchard sits on 120 acres of land with lots of activities once you're all picked out. Hay rides, trains and carousels can all be found on the premises plus a country market, bakery and family-friendly restaurant. The orchard opens at 9:30 a.m. on Fridays and closes at 7:00 p.m.

Explore Batfest

Date: Saturday, October 25

Get the kids into their costumes and bring them down to Batfest on Wilson Street in Batavia for some good, clean Halloween fun! Batfest offers young ones trick-or-treating at local stores, contests, food and even tractor-pulled hay-rides. There are also parades and games that every member of the family will adore. Head inside Batavia's city hall for free showings of Halloween-themed short films and even more food! Batfest starts at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday by the Batavia River Walk.

Enjoy Some Pumpkin

Finish up your week of fall activities by celebrating National Pumpkin Day! Hoosier Mama Pie Company on W. Chicago Avenue serves up a delicious pumpkin pie that has to be tasted to believe.
