Fans of The Biggest Loser can meet the television series’ chef Devin Alexander and taste items from her cookbook at a The Biggest Loser screening party at Shade Hotel’s zinc@shade restaurant on Monday, Jan. 28 in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
The event at the boutique hotel, located 15 minutes south of Los Angeles, coincides with the restaurant’s serving of dishes from Alexander’s 30 Days of Devinly Decadence cookbook, which is part of Manhattan Beach’s ongoing "Blue Zones" Vitality Cities Initiatives in which area restaurants pledge to provide healthy menu options, which continues through Feb. 5.
The celebrity chef, who is known for her guilt-free and budget-friendly dishes, will serve tasting plates of from her cookbooks, like crab cakes, before the screening of The Biggest Loser. Diners who order items from the Devinly Decadent menu, which features dishes less than 500 calories and drinks less than 200 calories, can win autographed copies of Alexander’s cookbooks, which include The Biggest Loser Cookbook, The Biggest Loser Family Cookbook, and The Biggest Loser Dessert Cookbook, and other prizes, which will be awarded during commercial breaks.
Diners will watch an episode of The Biggest Loser in which Alexander demonstrates how to create three healthy menus for a family of six that cost less than $20 to prepare.
