Chicago’s Rockit Burger Bar has established itself as one of the country’s premier burger joints not only because of the everyday creative quality of its burgers but also because it knows how to throw a mean burger party.
Rockit’s 11th annual Burger Fest begins next Monday (May 16), running though Friday, with an inventive burger featured each day. Details are here. Beginning with Monday’s burger and following chronologically through the week, the burgers are:
The Wall Street
A ground short rib and bone marrow studded with foie gras patty, tomato bacon jam and arugula on a brioche bun with truffle fries on the side.
Pastrami-spiced Angus beef patty, pimento cheese sauce and vinegar pickles on a pretzel bun with white Cheddar chips.
Bring Back Thanksgiving
Turkey burger with sage and marjoram, stuffing, cranberry mustard aïoli, shoestring sweet potatoes and giblet gravy poured over, with brûléed marshmallow on top of the bun and Brussels sprout salad on the side.
Porky Patty Melt
Pork patty, fried egg, spicy ketchup and bacon on rye toast with malt vinegar chips.
Smoke & Mirrors
Smoked bison patty, Havarti cheese and piperade on a sesame-seed bun with sweet potato fries

What service upgrade are you contemplating for your burger joint? Euromonitor International reports that one Burger King in Finnish capital Helsinki has added an in-store sauna.
The steam room “includes benches featuring Burger King colors, a sauna stove with modern white stones and a television with gaming capabilities. Additional amenities include showers, dressing rooms and a lounge featuring Burger King signage,” according to Euromonitor.
Food can be ordered and delivered to customers in the sauna. The plan is to install in-sauna tablets from which orders can be placed.
