Drunk Man Shoots Restaurateur Who Won't Let Him Get Drunker

A man who had already had way more than enough to drink on Friday actually pulled out a gun and shot the restaurant owner who refused to sell him any more alcohol.

According to the New York Daily News, Mario Ramirez owns El Rey de Copas Restaurant in the Bronx. Early Friday, a very drunk customer came in and tried to order more drinks. When the waitress refused to serve him more, the man started asking for the manager. The man was reportedly visibly inebriated, so Ramirez went over to tell the customer that he wouldn't be getting any more alcohol and that he should leave, and at that the customer pulled a gun and shot Ramirez right in the chest at close range. Then he shot him in the neck while he was lying on the ground.

Neighbors say they thought the shots were fireworks until they heard people screaming at the restaurant. The gunman fled, while Ramirez was rushed to the hospital.

Fortunately, Ramirez–who has three children–survived the attack and is expected to recover. Police are reportedly still looking for the suspect.
