Best Upcoming Musicals In Seattle

Musical theater in Seattle is great anytime, but even better during the winter. Audiences don't seem to mind dressing up since there is a chill in the air anyway. The red velvet curtains are pulled back, the seats are packed and the shows are especially festive. For some, live theater is a holiday tradition; for others, it is just a night out to enjoy the performing arts. Whatever the case may be, here is what you can be looking forward to this season.

"A Christmas Story" is a musical based on the beloved 1983 film of the same name. The story takes place in the year of 1939 in Indiana. While other children have dreams of sugarplums dancing in their heads, little Ralphie dreams of owning a Red Ryder BB Gun while his mother warns that he'll just shoot his eye out. Ralphie's father is the holiday "winner" of a tacky leg lamp, the neighborhood kids triple-dog-dare each other to stick their tongues on freezing flagpoles and the department store Santa is rather cranky. It is a musical comedy that the whole family can appreciate.
