Top Rated Chicken and Rice Recipes

This is my grandmother's recipe, but it was originally meant as a way to serve up fresh dove when it was in season. Since I live in the city, and there isn't a lot of opportunity for dove hunting, I substitute chicken. I find that bone in chicken pieces work best because they don't dry out the way boneless pieces will. This is my idea of ultimate comfort food. I usually serve it with peas and fresh sweet potatoes.

I got this recipe from a friend years ago. It's really 'comfort food' I think. You can use the whole cut-up chicken, or whatever pieces you prefer... normally I just use breasts, but today I'm using a family pak of thighs that were on sale.

Alright, I'm a big fan of one-pot meals, and most of my meals I make for one person, because I live alone. So you can always make more if you want to! This one is really super easy though. Also, I'm talking about the SMALL bullion cubes, NOT the big ones! Also, I use low-sodium soy sauce

I got this recipe years ago from the Campbell's website. My kids aren't big fans of broccoli, so I usually leave it out and serve a green veggie on the side. I also substitute brown rice for white because that's what my family prefers-it adds a few minutes to the simmering time. I also like to chop the chicken before browning-just a personal preference.

Don't let the low cooking temperature scare you, it turns out perfectly every time. This is an extremely easy, VERY yummy recipe. My family once served 65 people using this recipe (with the help of neighbors' ovens!). This recipe has won an award in a cooking contest.

I received this recipe from a friend many many years ago. This was my FIL favorite recipe and he would request it for his birthday dinner. He has passed on and I think about him fondly every time I make this recipe. Very easy and good but not for those counting calories.

This is light and flavorful. I started using instant rice but now I use the basmati rice and WOW what a difference. It brings so much to the flavor.
