In the city of Vermilion, about 40 miles west of Cleveland, The Festival of the Fish takes place right downtown and is put on by the Vermilion Chamber of Commerce. With several food and craft vendors, craft races, a lighted boat parade, a pageant and kids games, dad and everyone in the family will be entertained. The festival takes place Friday through Sunday, with fireworks on Friday night and a Father's Day Parade on Sunday. There will also be live entertainment from Nashville-based recording artists Chris Higbee, Bowyer Drive and Christian Kaser. The festival will run Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14 from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m.; and Sunday, June 15 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Is dad an outdoorsman? The West Creek branch of the Cleveland Metroparks is offering a free Father's Day Celebration on June 15 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Monarch Bluffs Picnic Shelter at the Watershed Stewardship Center at West Creek. Here families can learn from the naturalists about different ways of life and activities of fathers in wildlife. There will also be a craft activity for the family to do together and take home as a souvenir of the day. This event is free.

The 100th Bomb Group Restaurant Sunday brunch is a great choice for dads who love war memorabilia and aviation. Located near the Cleveland Hopkins Airport, the restaurant shares views of incoming and outgoing flights and has memorabilia from World War II from The Bomb Group. Sunday brunch runs from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers a wide variety of delicious items including omelets, fresh seafood and a carving section, to name a few. This free annual family event will take place June 13 through June 15, 2014 at Veterans Memorial Park in Avon. There will be many activities for the family revolving around this year's theme, Out Of This World. On Saturday morning, there will be a parade starting at Avon's High School at 10 a.m. Entertainment includes a duct tape fashion show, live music, crafts and delicious food and other vendors to explore. Shurtech, the company that makes Duck Tape, is located in Avon and this event lets people use this famous brand of duct tape in many unique ways. Hours are Friday, June 13 from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.; Saturday, June 14, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sunday, June 15, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking is free.

In its 57th year running, the Father's Day Car Show at the historic Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens is a Father's Day tradition for Northeast Ohioans. Located on the historic country estate, dad can check out these classic collectable and antique cars on the Great Meadow. The show runs on June 15 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $12 for non-museum member adults, $9 for adult members, $5 non-member youth, $4 for member youth and children five years and under are free. There is also free parking off-site for this event.
